"By pulling GPS metadata from uploaded photos (and then skinning that data in a neat 3D visualization), users can see how photographers/tourists see a given area. There's overlap, yes, but that's entirely the point. It's a project more about capturing stereotypes (like the Eiffel Tower in Paris or the Statue of Liberty in NY), than giving a Google Street View objective turn by turn of an area."

bike snob crushes smart car by 3 min.

veer

"Veer explores America's fast-growing bicycling culture by profiling five people whose lives are inextricably tied to bicycling and the bike-centric social groups they belong to. The film follows these characters over the course of a year, offering a behind-the-scenes look at their personal struggles and triumphs. Veer examines what it means to be part of a community, and how social movements are formed."

leather porn

"Jacques Ferrand trained as a traditional leather cutter and sewer, and after 14 years of apprenticeship, set up his own shop, Crèvecoeur (23 r. Des Blancs Manteaux, Paris, France). He normally works on bags, shoes, and belts, either directly for customers under the name Etablissements Ferrand, or for labels such as Hermès.

Today he called me to show me the bike he’s just finished covering, and the result is quite spectacular. Every inch of the frame is covered in thin leather, down to the lugs and tightest spots of the bottom bracket, and the saddle and grips are in ostrich leather"

digital graffiti wall

Graffiti Wall from Alex Beim on Vimeo.

"Now, artists can digitally "paint" a surface in the same way they can tag a wall with traditional spray paint. This multi-user application is perfectly poised to engage large groups of people at parties or festivals, and immerse them in a cool common activity. Tested with more than 10 writers at the same time, graffiti wall can be used by almost any size audience with ease and precision. Conversely, with a single artist, the Graffiti Wall's animation option can be used to make a riveting performance piece."
